Supply chain management is the management of supply chain, the work of supply chain in any business is to provide material from the production point to the end consumer point and the art of managing all these activities efficiently is called Supply chain management SCM.

Supply chain management SCM is a cross functional approach, as it carries on the raw material from different or a single supplier to the manufacturer, then the finished good carried towards the whole seller and then to the retailer, from retailer to the consumer, and again the cycle goes on and on, thus Supply Chain Management is a nonstop function which doesn’t stops. If it does the Company and the customers would face a certain disaster.
Importance of supply chain management:
Supply chain management plays a vital role, as the world has been globalized due to the information technology and new gadgets and growing economies, it’s really hard for companies to survive without a particular and formal link towards their stakeholders and that formal linkage is made with the help of supply chain management as supply chain management not only seeks for a effective supply chain network but it also focuses on Customer relationship management, customer service management, demand management supplier relationship management, manufacturing flow management and returns management, thus SCM creates a complete network of flow on information and trust amongst the stakeholders which certainly benefits the companies
